February Speed-paint Landscape Challenge!

With the success of the December challenge and being able to see the progress of the artists who contributed, it was definitely an incredible experience. So again I will be going to be doing another challenge, this time with the help of other artists. This months theme is Landscapes!
This is an area i am weak in and i would love to do this challenge with others who are looking to improve this part of their craft as well.
The way it works is there will be a photo designated for every other day. There is a two hour time limit with each piece, and my advice would be to use all of this time wisely. There will be two critiquing sessions one around the 15th, and the other at the end of the month so using all the time allotted would be to your benefit.
Only rule: NO TRACING!!!! We will tear you a new one in the critique so DONT DO IT!! We

Anniversary Contest! Win a 1 year sub c':Well like I mentioned awhile ago, my 2nd anniversary with !lemurdecatta is coming up May 17th and I decided to make a contest about it.
Alright.. let's get to it, since small talk is boring c': hah.

What you have to do is draw my boyfriend and I doing anything lovey dovey, crazy, silly, random. Anything!

Simply having a wonderful Christmas time

Challenge Me.Lately I've been feeling trapped. Although that may be because I haven't left my house in over a week...
Anyways for quite a while now I've been feeling like my art isn't what it could be. I look around on dA, and I usually feel completely inadequate. Everyone's out there creating these amazing things, while I struggle to create a single piece I feel any pride in. I suspect it may be because I've been mostly staying in my comfort zone. This is partly because while I'd like to do something unusual, I haven't been able to come up with any inspiring ideas.
So, help me out. Give me a challenge. It could be something I don't draw very often, or it could be rules for a picture, like I can't use the color blue. Or I can't draw it with my hands. Or I have to draw your mother, without using any pictures, or even knowing what she looks like. Anything.
Have fun. Go wild.
And then I'll pick some good ones and see what I can come up with.

Requests for artwork?I'm going to be working on a lot of new artwork in the coming months for cons and things and I'm looking for inspiration.
I won't be doing artwork of any specific characters (this isn't that kind of request art ), but rather, generic creatures, scenes, etc. Anything in the public domain, as I will be selling this artwork.
So perhaps something like, "I really like griffins and want to see more griffins", or, "I want to see more scenes with full backgrounds"  or, "I really love the medieval period and it would be neat to see art based on medieval Europe." or, "I challenge you to do a painting with a blue and green dominant and red-purple highlighted color scheme."
Anything like that.
I'm not really at a loss for things to do, but I'm thinking that perhaps something will really jump out at me and inspire something nice. Then again, I may hit a dry spell and will feel inspired by nothing at all. So please don't be sore if I don't use your idea.

Must Rant - Stop Devauling Artists!I was reading a fellow deviant's journal and checking out the comments (I always check the comments so I don't repeat something that's already been said or ask a question that's already been asked and sometimes you meet interesting people through the comments sections, so I'm not just some creepy stalker) and I found myself getting kinda annoyed. The journal was about commissions and had the prices and some people were commenting 'So expensive!!!' and complaining about the price. It kind of went hand in hand with a discussion that I was having with a friend about pricing some of my stuff. I was trying to figure out a price for some plushies that I'm making and I was thinking $10. When I told another friend, she nearly had a heart attack and said 'That's WAY too cheap! How many hours did you put into making that?' But sadly, because of the Walmart mentality in today's society, we have to price our stuff cheaper than it's really worth considering time and materials in order to even compe

HalloweenHi there!

So school holidays started finally. True, I've got so much work to do, but at least
no early wake-ups for a week, yaay!
We had some snow here today and yesterday, but unfortunately it didn't last.

I know I should submit some spooky deviations, but honestly I haven't been doing
anything for a while now, so I start preparing something today (let's say).

So guys the new year is just around the corner, and in order to jump start some improvement in 2012, i will be doing a realism bust speed paint every other day in December. I tried to choose different angles, features and demand of color and value :3 Now remember speed painting doesn't mean you have to finish it fast but its more about the speed of the strokes! so dont feel bad if you dont finish in thirty seconds XD!
