A fine display of stylism, bold colouring and contrasted imagery.

This image takes a swing in the surrealism direction, evident in the subject's posture, the shading (or sparsity thereof)and the choice of palette. Notice the array of shades of red and the opposing styles of line technique bringing the impact; notably in the foreground roses and it's contrast counterpart on the woman's arms and face.

Delicate textures such as the plush roses proudly standing before the heavier maroon dress are composed with hasty and agile lines, giving an infirm and gauzy, gossamer aesthetic - as opposed to the defined figure of the woman in strong and purposeful thicker lines.

Neatly moving onto the pose -accentuated by afforementioned lines- which is the definitive focal point and arguably the linchpin for this picture's message and metaphor. Drawn in sure, steady lines and holding an evocative pose portrays a bold and lustful woman, much like the colour scheme.

Small details hint at a slightly upper class grandeur and pomp - such as the finely drawn feather or pipe - and her hidden eyes could represent playful "shyness" to add to the flirtation.

Surrealist elements shine through from hints like the lack of straight lines or shading. Arguably, attention to shading detail may have overcomplicated and busied the piece, making it potentially too cluttered.
The roses appear to be dancing or swaying - perhaps along with the woman? - and the serpentine smoke (which on it's own, coupled with the woman's makeup and the danger element of the colour red suggest a naughty or dark side) neatly leads the viewer's eyes skyward into a plethora of shapes.

A very passionate piece with a defined image. Well done.
